CAL 133 is different from other flammability standards in that it tests the fire resistance of a finished piece of furniture - not just individual components
To pass CAL 133 a manufacturer must design a piece of furniture with a combination of materials - that include fabric, cushioning material and fireblocker, such as Kevlar® - that ensures over-all safety
